Asus ROG Phone 8 Ultimate Gets Certified, Charging Speed Confirmed, Expected to Launch in Early 2024

The Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate and the base version are going to launch tomorrow, and just a few hours before the launch, we have some official renders of the upcoming devices along with full specifications. As expected, the new phones are packed to the brim with top-of-the-line hardware, and if you are looking for something solid, these phones will deliver the performance.

The leak does not mention anything about the Asus ROG Phone 7 Pro but mentions that the company will launch two devices tomorrow. This could mean that the renders previously looked at were of the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate and not the Pro variant.

The Asus ROG Phone 7 series is launching tomorrow with disappointing cameras and a familiar, aggressive design

With that out of the way, look at the renders of both devices below, courtesy of winfuture.de.

Returning to the specs, both the Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate and the base variant will bring Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The phones have a 6.8-inch AMOLED display running at 165Hz. Both phones will pack a 6,000 mAh battery. Optically, you are looking at a 50-megapixel main camera without optical image stabilization. You also get a 13-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 5-megapixel macro camera on the back.

So if both phones are identical, how do you differentiate between both devices? Well, the ROG Phone 7 Ultimate will have a larger RAM capacity and an AeroActive Portal where you can attach the fan accessory for better thermals. The standard version will offer some RGB lighting, but there won't be any interface to connect accessories.

We currently cannot confirm the price of the Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate or the base variant, but it is safe to say that these phones will be expensive and will offer some really cool technology for those who want to play games on their phones. Just by looking at the camera department, you can tell that Asus did not pay much attention to the cameras on the device, and honestly, it should not really be a problem for mobile gamers who are just buying a device for the sake of gaming.

The official launch is happening tomorrow, and we will confirm the pricing and availability once we get our hands on it. So far, the Asus ROG Phone 7 looks excellent for gamers, but I cannot possibly think of another reason for anyone to buy this phone.
