ASUS has teased its next-gen X870E & X870 motherboards designed for AMD's AMD Ryzen CPUs such as the newly launched Ryzen 9000 series.
ASUS's Next-Gen X870E & X870 Motherboards Are Fully Optimized For AMD Ryzen 9000 "AM5" Desktop CPUs, Full Unveil Coming 20th August
ASUS today teased its brand new X870 and X870E chipset motherboards on X, claiming to improve the AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" AM5 CPU performance through their optimized designs. While the availability date and pricing information are not revealed in the post, expect ASUS to announce these details on the 20th of August during its Gamescom "ROG" event.
From the picture, five different motherboards are visible. One is the TUF Gaming, the other is the enthusiast-grade Crosshair HERO motherboard in the center, and the one on the right seems to be from the ROG Strix series. On top, the motherboard's design looks familiar to the budget Prime series while the one at the bottom is surely from the ProArt series as obvious from the chipset accents.
These five ASUS series have existed for generations but with the introduction of X870E and X870 chipsets, the motherboards will come with newer features for better optimizations. Last month, ASUS announced two new X870E TUF and ROG Maximus motherboards along with brand new features like Heavy Load Dynamic CO Stabilizer and All Core Safe CO Svalue to Switch to. The first one enables switching to PBO from OC mode under very heavy loading while the second one sets an appropriate fallback curve optimizer value in very heavy loading.
As a result, the ASUS X870 & X870E "AM5" motherboards will be able to unlock more performance out of AMD Ryzen 9000 CPUs compared to the X670 and X670E chipsets. Currently, you can use the Ryzen 9000 CPUs on X670/X670E and B650/B650E motherboards. The X870/X870E series is on the way and is expected to hit the shelves later in September from various motherboard partners.
It has been two months since ASRock showed its entire X870E and X870 motherboard lineup at Computex and MSI too joined the event with a few of its X870 motherboards. Up until now, there is no pricing information revealed by either manufacturer but as Zen 5 CPUs have launched officially, users won't have to wait for too long.
