ASUS Launches ProArt PA32KCX 32-Inch 8K Monitor, Featuring 1000 Nits of Sustained Brightness, Excellent HDR Support, and Modern Connectivity

Popular hardware and peripheral maker, ASUS, has introduced its flagship 8K monitor called ProArt PA32KCX, aimed at professionals. The monitor isn't your regular gaming display, but it caters to the demands of color graders and content creators. The monitor brings both HDR support and Mini-LED technology, making it the world's first 8K HDR Mini-LED monitor at the moment, which brings superior visual quality compared to regular 8K displays.

The ProArt PA32KCX brings 4,032 local dimming zones, which can be individually dimmed or brightened to create a strong contrast between bright and dark areas, thanks to the advanced Mini LED driver ICs that control each dimming zone with precision. Moreover, it has excellent HDR support and brings format support like Dolby Vision 1, HLG, and HDR10. This makes it incredibly bright and can max out at 1200 nits while sustaining 1000 nits of high brightness across the whole screen, making it suitable for well-lit rooms and environments.

With 8K resolution (7680 x 4320) on a 32-inch display, the ProArt PA32KCX has an incredibly high pixel density of 275 pixels per inch, which is twice that of what you will see on a 4K 32-inch monitor. This enables sharper text and detailed visuals on the ProArt PA32KCX. However, the monitor isn't just limited to great HDR support, high brightness, or pixel density; it also brings a wide color gamut, bringing color spaces like 95% Adobe RGB, 97% DCI-P3, 100% sRGB, and 100% Rec. 709 that make it excellent for content creation.

With a true 10-bit color depth, it's able to produce 1.07 billion colors and comes factory pre-calibrated to bring excellent color accuracy with Delta E<1 out of the box. Still, ASUS provides flexible calibration options, such as a built-in motorized flip colorimeter to do the job on the fly, and tools like ASUS ProArt Calibration technology to save the parameter profiles on the internal scaler IC.

For connectivity, it brings dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, a DisplayPort 2.1, and two HDMI 2.1 ports. One Thunderbolt 4 port is able to deliver 96 watts of power delivery, which can be used to charge laptops, mobile phones, or other devices, and the other Thunderbolt 4 port allows daisy-chaining several displays. There is also a KVM switch to switch between different devices using the same keyboard and mouse, which is yet another convenient feature to improve productivity.

ASUS hasn't announced its official price yet, but it says that the monitor will be available on retailers, starting this month.
