ASUS is preparing two flagship motherboards for AMD Ryzen CPUs, the ROG Crosshair X870E Glacial and Crosshair X870E DARK NEO.
ASUS Continues To Innovate The AM5 Motherboard Space With Flagship ROG Crosshair X870E Glacial & ROG Crosshair X870E DARK NEO Motherboards For AMD Ryzen CPUs
Yesterday, ASUS published a teaser of its next-gen ROG Crosshair motherboards based on the AM5 socket and AMD X870E chipset. These two motherboards are designed as the flagship offerings within the ASUS AM5 stack. Now, we have more details on these motherboards.
Starting with the ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Glacial, this is an E-ATX design featuring a powerful 26-28 phase VRM delivery and an updated VRM heatsink design which integrates a massive 5" LCD on the IO cover.
The motherboard will carry over 8000 MT/s DDR5 speeds in up to 256 GB capacities, and there's also the ASUS exclusive DIMM.2 slot, which enables more M.2 slots. Next to this is a large panel that is going to offer Start and FlexKey buttons, and underneath it are right-angled connectors, including the 24-pin EPS and an additional 6-pin connector for additional power.
The motherboard comes with a large tray cover that hides the PCIe and M.2 slots. All M.2 slots are cooled off by a large heatsink with dedicated heatpads. The primary M.2 slot features a 3D Vapor Chamber heat-sink solution with an embedded heatpipe that should enable cooler temperatures on the fastest Gen5 SSD solutions. Storage options include four SATA III ports, and the overall white "Glacial" aesthetic looks fantastic on the motherboard.
The ROG CROSSHAIR X870E GLACIAL reigns supreme as the ultimate flagship in ASUS' gaming motherboard lineup, meticulously engineered for the AMD Ryzen 9000 series. This motherboard is not only primed for the latest AM5 CPUs but also boasts a striking, whitewashed aesthetic that redefines motherboard design.
Beyond its visual appeal, the ROG CROSSHAIR X870E GLACIAL delivers unparalleled gaming performance for enthusiasts, leveraging DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 for maximum throughput. Comprehensive connectivity, including USB4, ensures future-readiness, while the integrated 5-inch LCD offers real-time system monitoring and personalized flair. Finally, its robust architecture is perfectly poised to accelerate emerging AI applications, making it the definitive choice for forward-thinking professionals.
The second motherboard that ASUS teased is its ROG Crosshair X870E DARK HERO, which comes with updated black aesthetics, a more powerful VRM design, and the same 3D Vapor Chamber M.2 heatsink. ASUS is also leveraging several EZ DIY.
Both ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E motherboards, the Glacial and DARK NEO, will be showcased at CES, along with new "NEO" additions in the ProArt and TUF Gaming families, so stay tuned.
