ASUS has finally launched its mainstream overclocking motherboard, the B850M AYW Gaming OC, with a stunning white color scheme.
ASUS Rolls Out Its Fastest mATX OC Motherboard, The B850M AYW Gaming OC, Supporting Up To 10,400 MT/s Memory With Ryzen CPUs
For the past couple of weeks, ASUS has been teasing a brand new AYW series motherboard, which is designed for overclockers and enthusiasts. Today, the company has finally unveiled this product, the B850M AYW Gaming OC WIFI7 W. The motherboard is a mATX design and features some special OC capabilities. We have seen an influx of such motherboards, such as MSI's B850MPOWER & Gigabyte's upcoming B850M Force. These motherboards offer great OC features at an attractive price point that makes them accessible to a wide range of users.
Starting with the technical details, we first have a 12+2+1 phase power delivery, which features all 80A MOSFETs. These are featured under dedicated heatsinks. The CPU receives power from dual 8-pin power connectors, so the CPU side is looking very solid for an mATX B850 motherboard. There are three M.2 slots, with one being Gen5x4 and the other two being Gen4x4. For expansion, the board offers one PCIe 5.0 x16 slot with Q-Release and a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot.
Now, coming to the OC features of the motherboard. First up, the ASUS B850M AYW Gaming OC has two DDR5 DIMM slots for higher signal integrity. Officially, the motherboard supports up to 9600+ MT/s OC speeds, but ASUS has already confirmed up to 10,400+ MT/s OC speeds through its social channels. The motherboard also comes with a dedicated clock generator, allowing users to adjust the BLCK in real-time. For this purpose, the motherboard comes with BLCK +/- buttons at the bottom alongside a DEBUG LED.
As for the design itself, the motherboard looks fantastic with its all-white color scheme. It is currently the only mATX OC-specific option in this color scheme. Besides that, the IO includes a DP port, an HDMI port, 4 USB 5 Gbps Type-A ports, 3 USB 10 Gbps Type-A ports, 2 USB 2.0 Type-A ports, 1 USB 20 Gbps Type-C port, Wi-Fi 7 antennas, a 2.5GbE LAN port, a Clear CMOS button, a BIOS Flashback button, & 3 Audio Jacks.
Internally, the motherboard offers 1 USB 10 Gbps Type-C connector, 2 USB 5 Gbps ports, 4 USB 2.0 ports, and 2 SATA III ports. The ASUS B850M AYW Gaming OC motherboard also features six fan headers and three ARGB gen2 headers.
The motherboard is expected to be priced between 1300-1399 RMB, which puts it under $200 US, making it by far the cheapest OC B850M designs on the market. The B850MPOWER from MSI costs $279. So that should make it a very nice option for overclockers on a budget. The AYW Gaming OC is likely to be released in Asian-Pacific markets, so it will be hard to get hands on the motherboard in the US/EU regions.
