ARCTIC, one of the top cooling manufacturers, has reaffirmed that all of its LGA 1700 coolers will be compatible with the LGA 1851 socket for Intel Arrow Lake CPUs.
ARCTIC Is Ready For Intel's Upcoming Arrow Lake "LGA 1851" CPUs With All of Its LGA 1700 Being Compatible With The New Socket
Last year, ARCTIC announced that its existing cooling lineup will be compatible with the upcoming LGA 1851 socket. This announcement was made almost one year ago in the same month (October) and now the company has reaffirmed that its entire LGA 1700 cooler lineup is compatible with the new socket.
Intel's LGA 1851 socket has been around for a while as it was released with the Meteor Lake-PS line which are socketed parts for the Edge platform. These CPUs however are limited to a certain niche and the actual debut of the LGA 1851 socket will come with Arrow Lake "Core Ultra Series 2" CPUs later this month. The Z890 motherboards will be the first to feature support for the new socket & the respective CPUs.
ARCTIC coolers are fully compatible with Intel’s new LGA1851 socket
Intel will soon be releasing the new Arrow Lake processors on the LGA1851 socket. ARCTIC customers do not need to worry about incompatibility.
All LGA1700 compatible ARCTIC coolers can be used without restriction for Intel’s new LGA1851 socket.
According to current information, the mechanical dimensions remain unchanged. Regardless, ARCTIC has assured customers since last year that all coolers purchased from October 23 onwards will support the new socket.
ARCTIC customers can therefore switch to the new system without any worries and can always rely on the highest performance and maximum service.
One thing that users need to be cautious about is transferring their current or older CPU coolers to the new platform. ARCTIC has assured its customers that everyone who bought a LGA 1700 socket cooler will retain compatibility on the new socket which means users won't have to worry about a new retention bracket or changing their cooler entirely if they plan to make the move to the newer platforms. Here are the expected dimensions of Intel's upcoming LGA 1851 socket, based on what the leaks have provided.
- Socket V1 (LGA 1851): 35x37.5mm / 6.83-7.49mm IHS to MB / 0.800mm Pin Pitch
- Socket V (LGA 1700): 35x37.5mm / 6.73-7.40mm IHS to MB / 0.800mm Pin Pitch
If you check out the LGA 1700 cooler lineup from ARCTIC, it is quite extensive, ranging from the top Liquid Freezer III AIOs to the highly acclaimed Freezer 36 series heatsinks and even the entry-level Alpine 17 cooler. Other manufacturers are also expected to announce their compatibility with the LGA 1851 socket with Noctua already having made the announcement last year. Another thing to note would be the ILM on the motherboards and how it has changed and affects compatibility with the Arrow Lake CPUs.
We also recently reported how the Hotspot on the Arrow Lake CPUs will shift slightly towards the north. These are a few things that we will go into detail in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned.
