Apple's C-suite upheaval has apparently not subsided, with treacherous currents continuing to swirl beneath the apparent surface. And now, Apple's 31-year marketing veteran has become merely the latest in a rapidly growing litany of unceremonious departures.
Apple's Stan Ng, an emblem of the so-called old guard, has just retired
In a heartfelt LinkedIn post, Apple's Stan Ng has revealed that Thursday was his last working day at Apple, and that he spent most of the day ticking off nostalgia-heavy to-dos such as watching the sunrise from Apple Park while listening to his original iPod.
Of course, Stan was no ordinary employee at Apple. Over his 31-year association with the Cupertino-based tech giant, Stan helped launch the original iPod and assisted in developing the original Apple Watch and many of its subsequent iterations. Most recently, he served as the marketing head for Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple Health, and home-related products.
Stan Ng's departure comes amid ongoing C-suite churn at Apple. Back in December 2025, Apple summarily replaced its then-AI czar, John Giannandrea, with Microsoft's Amar Subramanya, while giving the broader AI-related oversight to its software engineering chief, Craig Federighi.
At around the same time, Apple's head of UI design, Alan Dye, was formally poached by Meta. Also, Apple's vice president for Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives, Lisa Jackson, left the company in March 2026, while the tech giant's general counsel, Kat Adams, is all set to depart by late 2026.
Finally, Abidur Chowdhury, the designer of the iPhone Air and a rising star within the company, also recently left his cushy job with Apple to pursue a stint elsewhere.
