Samsung's display-related prowess remains unmatched right now, even as it continues to expand its lead by undertaking ambitious innovation. Now, a new leak has shed some much-needed light on a new holographic display that Samsung might be developing for Apple's secretive Spatial iPhone.

Samsung typically implements significant technological upgrades with each new generation of its display panels. For instance, the M16 panels that are slated for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will swap blue fluorescent OLED material for blue phosphorescent material, entailing a meaningful jump in efficiency.
Even so, Samsung now appears to have outdone its sizable innovative streak, borrowing a page right out of science fiction, provided, of course, that the latest tidbit pans out.
According to the tipster Schrödinger, Samsung appears to be working on a new holographic display, dubbed MH1 or simply H1, for short.
The display presumably integrates a "nano-structured holographic layer" within the display itself, enabling 3D-like depth effects. It also uses eye-tracking and diffractive beam-steering to supposedly enhance the holographic effect.
The tipster adds that Samsung has developed a patented algorithm that allows users to simply tilt their phone to view around objects in a given video.
Also, the display supposedly maintains full 4K fidelity for standard 2D viewing, activating holographic depth only for qualifying content. This comes as rumors abound that Apple is also supposedly working on a so-called Spatial iPhone, possibly as a successor to the iPhone 20.
Of course, Apple does not manufacture its own displays. As such, it stands to reason that the Cupertino-based tech giant will leverage Samsung's MH1 display if its plans around this new innovative juggernaut. Also, it is not outside the realm of credulity that the two behemoths are already collaborating with each other on this secretive project. We should know more as time passes. Stay tuned!
