Apple released the first beta of iOS 26 soon after it was done with its WWDC 2026 event for all compatible iPhone models. Since the initial versions are always crawling with bugs and issues, the average user generally waits until Apple releases the first public beta. It is now being reported that the company will release the first public beta of iOS 26 later this week.
Apple will release the first iOS 26 public beta tomorrow, alongside additional updates
Apple introduced a plethora of new features with iOS 26, but the highlight of the update remains the new Liquid Glass redesign, which took the internet by storm. While some might argue against it, calling it not original and a bit intrusive, others welcome a refreshed interface. If you have not tried the new Liquid Glass user experience yet, we advise you to wait until the company seeds the first public beta of iOS 26. So far, the company has released its fair share of beta updates to developers, and as per reports from Mark Gurman, the public beta will follow soon.
According to MacRumors, a private account with a credible track record has shared build numbers of Apple's unreleased updates. You can check out the build numbers for more details:
- iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 beta 4 - 23A5297i
- macOS 26 beta 4 - 25A5316i
- tvOS 26 and HomePod Software 26 beta 4 - 23J5316g
- watchOS 26 beta 4 - 23R5317g
- visionOS 26 beta 4 - 23M5300g
Typically, the private account shares build numbers a day before the company releases its updates, and if the news has any heft to it, we can expect iOS 26 public beta to be released tomorrow, July 23. This is because the company is expected to release the fourth developer beta of the update today, and Apple's typical release cycle involves seeding public betas a day after.
Apple also accidentally released the first public beta of macOS Tahoe 26, which is another indication that the final release is closing in. The company pulled back the update, but will release it again tomorrow for the public. Take note that iOS 26 public beta will be accompanied by iPadOS 26, watchOS 26, macOS 26, visionOS 26, and tvOS 26 for all compatible devices. We will keep a close eye on the updates, so do stick around for more details.
