Apple Watch Series X to come two bigger display sizes, but without any design change

The Apple Watch Series X is expected to be unveiled during the company’s September 9 ‘It’s Glowtime’ event, and we can anticipate a bevy of changes arriving to the new smartwatch to celebrate its 10th iteration. However, a leakster shared the alleged display of the upcoming wearable while also providing some specifications regarding its screen. To summarize, some of you might be disappointed with what you are about to learn.

Apple Watch Series X to only feature a 1mm display size upgrade, with the wearable arriving in two models

Early predictions stated that the Apple Watch Series X would arrive in two models, with the biggest variant flaunting a 49mm display size, up from 45mm. Sadly, Majin Bu had to be the bearer of some bad news, as he uploaded the front side of what appears to be Apple’s upcoming smartwatch. He states that the display size would increase from 45mm to 46mm for the biggest version, with the smallest one getting the same treatment of having its screen bumped up to 42mm, up from 41mm.

Some CAD renders were previously doing the rounds, claiming that the Apple Watch Series X would have a 2-inch display, but according to the image we are gazing at right now, that does not appear to be the case. When asked if those CAD renders shared before were fake, the tipster responded that he had theorized these display sizes based on the cases that he had seen, implying that he might be incorrect in his assumptions.

Fortunately, he mentions that the Apple Watch Series X will have a flat display, resembling the Apple Watch Ultra range, foregoing the curved exterior that the technology giant has stuck with for several generations. Previously, we reported on some detailed renders based on the information received, claiming that the Apple Watch Series X would tout a unique band system that would help to conserve internal space to accommodate a bigger battery or additional sensors.

While we have not seen the commercial units, the Apple Watch Series X’s design has been discussed for a long time with no concrete information. Given that it is Apple’s 10th model in the wearable category, we should see some drastic changes in design, similar to what we witnessed with the iPhone X launch. However, only time will tell what the Cupertino firm’s actual intentions are.
