The Apple Vision Pro is reported to make its international debut in seven regions shortly after the WWDC 2024 keynote, which is expected to start on June 10. Despite receiving praise from critics as a technological marvel and beyond anything available in the virtual reality and mixed reality space, the Apple Vision Pro is yet to find its footing among consumers.
A few weeks ago, we reported that analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revised his annual shipments of the AR headset, which was said to be between 400,000 to 450,000 units for 2024. On this occasion, there are a few details mentioned in the latest report, so let us get right into it.
A separate report mentioned that the Apple Vision Pro might find success overseas thanks to the early adoption of virtual reality
Kuo has not updated his previous shipment estimates, suggesting that he does not feel that this figure will increase for the remainder of 2024. The bright side of this information is that Apple Vision Pro demand is not expected to decline either. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, the technology giant’s $3,499 head-mounted wearable can do well in overseas markets such as Japan because virtual reality is more popular in these countries.
However, we continue to reiterate that the biggest hurdle standing in the way of people purchasing the Apple Vision Pro is that high starting price, and that too, with a measly 256GB of non-expandable onboard storage. A low-cost version is said to be in the works, but it is said to launch sometime in 2025. However, another way that Apple can get consumers interested in its mixed-reality headset is with a preview of visionOS.

Fortunately, with WWDC 2024 said to start next week, we should see what changes the company intends to add in the upcoming update, and assuming that those alterations improve the Apple Vision Pro, consumers might display sufficient encouragement to pick one up.
