The onward march of Apple's latest software update cadence continues, with the Cupertino giant now seeding the second developer beta builds for iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2, watchOS 26.2, tvOS 26.2, visionOS 26.2, and macOS Tahoe 26.2.
Second developer beta builds for iOS 26.2 and more: Apple Games app gets 3 new features, macOS Tahoe 26.2 gets Edge Lighting
The latest developer betas bring some new features and updates. For instance, iOS 26.2 now allows you to remove pinned messages on CarPlay. Other major updates include:
Apple Games app - a central hub for all gaming activity on Apple's devices - gets 3 new features in iOS 26.2
- Now you can filter your games library by titles your friends are playing, as well as by size or those that support challenges.
- Improved controller compatibility during app navigation.
- Challenge scores now get updated in realtime.
macOS 26.2 gets Edge Lighting
- The feature lights up the corners of your Mac display during video call to light up your face.

Three major changes to the Podcast app:
- Apple will automatically create podcast episode chapters, facilitating ease of navigation.
- Apple Podcasts will now include the ability to "see and follow mentioned podcasts right from the player and transcript."
- A 'From This Episode' feature will allow users to "quickly access the links shared in a podcast on the episode page."
The Apple News app is now slated to get four new sections:
- Sports
- Puzzles
- Politics
- Food
You also get a Liquid Glass slider for customizing the appearance of the clock on the lock screen, allowing you to adjust the opacity of the clock to your liking.
You can now create an alarm with the Reminders app. When a Reminder alarm goes off, it displays a snooze option and a slide to stop option. The snooze option can be replaced with a 'mark as complete" option.
Apple also brought the Live Translation feature to the AirPods in the EU with iOS 26.2.
Additionally, Apple has also changed how Sleep Score tracks your sleep, with 'Very High' replacing 'Excellent' as the highest sleep category, and additional changes to each category's thresholds.
Meanwhile, the iPadOS 26.2 public beta 1 brought all the changes contained in the iOS 26.2 public beta 1, as well as two additional changes:
- The Freeform app now lets you use tables
- Apple Music lyrics now works while your device is offline.
Update: The iOS 26.2 public beta 2 has brought 2 significant changes
The second public beta build of Apple's iOS 26.2 software update has introduced two major changes:
- EU users will now be able to choose a default digital assistant other than Siri.
- AirDrop will now allow you to share a file with another Apple user who is not in your contacts for up to 30 days.
