Apple Releases The First Public Beta Builds For iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2, And More, MacOS Tahoe 26.2 Gets Its First Developer Build

Apple has just dropped a huge number of the first public beta builds for its December-facing software updates, while the macOS Tahoe 26.2 just received its first developer build.

The first developer build for macOS Tahoe 26.2 has finally landed. The update is exclusive to developers for now. But a public beta release is sure to follow in due course.

Meanwhile, Apple has also released the iOS 26.2 public beta 1, bringing a number of features:

The Apple News app is now slated to get four new sections:

You also get a Liquid Glass slider for customizing the appearance of the clock on the lock screen, allowing you to adjust the opacity of the clock to your liking.

You can now create an alarm with the Reminders app. When a Reminder alarm goes off, it displays a snooze option and a slide to stop option. The snooze option can be replaced with a 'mark as complete" option.

Apple is also bringing the Live Translation feature to the AirPods in the EU with iOS 26.2, with support for the following languages:

Apple has also changed how Sleep Score tracks your sleep, with 'Very High' replacing 'Excellent' as the highest sleep category, and additional changes to each category's thresholds.

Meanwhile, the iPadOS 26.2 public beta 1 brings all the changes contained in the iOS 26.2 public beta 1, as well as two additional changes:

  1. The Freeform app now lets you use tables
  2. Apple Music lyrics now works while your device is offline.

Finally, Apple has also seeded the first public beta builds for watchOS 26.2, visionOS 26.2, and tvOS 26.2.
