Apple plans to redesign the Magic Mouse radically, and it was recently reported that the new version will be ergonomically better than the current iteration. Rumors have suggested that the accessory will feature Voice Controls built right into the redesigned Magic Mouse, and an analyst has shared his insights on the upcoming feature. A prominent analyst claims that the Voice Controls in the Magic Mouse 'make sense' for AI-related features.
Apple could incorporate voice controls on the redesigned Magic Mouse
Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has shared that Voice Controls in the upcoming version of the Magic Mouse makes a lot of sense, considering the company uses it for AI-based features. However, the analyst also mentioned that he had not heard similar reports about the feature. It was initially coined by a Korean leaker, "yeux1222" that the company has created a prototype of the new Magic Mouse with voice and touch controls along with support for hand gestures.
The analyst claims that if the company plans to implement the features above, it is logical to orient them towards AI utilities. However, he also stated that the rumor is just an "incorrect back-and-forth translation" of the report he published earlier this month. While it remains to be seen if the company plans to use the listed features, a new design for the Magic Mouse is imminent.
Voice control in the new Magic Mouse I wrote about this month makes sense in light of AI — and the fact that Apple is on a decade-plus cycle. From what I’ve heard, big focus is ergonomics and gestures (relocated USB-C too). I’d expect a new keyboard too. https://t.co/FtUcR2Yqdj

Earlier in December, it was reported that Apple's new Magic Mouse will be ergonomically in line with Logitech's MX Master. The Magic Mouse's voice controls could be tied to Apple Intelligence and the enhanced version of Siri, which is expected to launch next year. Apple is also expected to work on a new LLM Siri, which would replace ChatGPT's integration on the iPhone and Mac, and the launch timeframe could intersect.
We must note that voice controls in the redesigned Magic Mouse would only act as a receiver, and the entire process would occur on the Mac. The rest of the features will be control-based, including gesture support, which is also available on the current version of the Magic Mouse. Apple recently updated the Magic Mouse with a USB-C port, but no major changes in terms of design were made.
As mentioned, it remains to be seen if voice controls on the redesigned Magic Mouse will make sense. There will be more details on the accessory as we move closer to launch, so be sure to keep an eye out.
