Apple launching several new Macs at WWDC 2023

Unlike previous WWDC keynotes, this one will likely have its announcements immortalized for years as Apple is gearing up to preview a brand new product category and its dedicated operating system, and yes, before you ask, we are talking about the rumored AR headset. However, one report focuses on the company’s future Macs, stating that several machines will be announced during the event. Unfortunately, the specific models were conveniently left out of the conversation.

Apple was previously reported to commence trade-ins of various Macs, indicating that Mac Pro and 15-inch MacBook Air announcements are in tow

On Twitter, Mark Gurman states that Apple’s WWDC 2023 will be one of the longest keynotes, easily exceeding two hours. This is because we will come across various announcements, including ‘several new Macs.’ While we are excited to see what hardware Apple graces its audience with, the reporter did not mention the exact models, so either he knows and he wants his readers to get a surprise, or he has little information on the matter.

During the weekend, Gurman pushed out an update, stating that Apple is expected to begin trade-ins of three Macs on June 5; the Mac Studio, the M2 MacBook Pro, and the M2 MacBook Air. It is easy to guess that owners of the two portable Macs will likely want to upgrade to the larger 15-inch MacBook Air, but why would Apple include the Mac Studio in the mix? It is possible that the company finally previews the elusive Mac Pro, and the Mac Studio trade-in could be targeted to power users who want to get every bit of computing juice out of Apple’s most powerful desktop.

However, prior to this rumor, we had not heard about Apple’s rumored intentions to unveil the Mac Pro at WWDC 2023, so a trade-in of the Mac Studio has us confused at this time. From a previous rumor, Apple’s M3 has been delayed to next year, but assuming that luck is on the company’s side, the earliest we will see the new SoC and its supported Macs is in the fourth quarter of this year. Naturally, nothing is confirmed now, so either we will come across a fresh update in a few days, or we will wait for Apple to officially announce those ‘new Macs,’ so stay tuned.
