Apple seems to have chosen 2026 to launch a number of high-end Ultra-class products, which now include the iPhone Ultra, the MacBook Ultra, camera-equipped AirPods Pro, and the Apple Watch Ultra 4.
And, as for the Apple Watch Ultra 4 specifically, we've just received a tantalizing tidbit that suggests a "major redesign" appears to be in the offing for Apple's high-end smart watch, along with a revamp of its suite of sensors.
Apple is reportedly introducing a new design language with the Apple Watch Ultra 4, replete with a comprehensive upgrade to its suite of sensors
DigiTimes is now reporting that the Apple Watch Ultra 4, which is expected to launch in the second half of 2026, will sport a "major redesign," one that is likely to boost shipments by 20 to 30 percent relative to the comparable shipment levels in 2025.
Concurrently, the Apple Watch Ultra 4 is expected to "bring a significant upgrade to sensing functions." While the report does not delve into the details of this revamp, Apple is likely to bring substantial improvements to the device's blood pressure and hypertension sensing tech, especially as DigiTimes notes that the Cupertino-based tech giant has introduced a new high blood pressure notification feature to its Apple Watch, one that is currently hidden from the public as it undergoes testing by the FDA.
Apparently, Apple is also working with the FDA to bring glucose level sensing tech to its smart watches. DigiTimes notes:
"The next stage is expected to focus on noninvasive blood-glucose monitoring and other functions, subject to government approval."
Meanwhile, as we mentioned earlier, 2026 appears to be all about high-end Ultra-class products, at least as per Apple's upcoming launch cadence.
For instance, Apple is gearing up to launch its first foldable, tentatively dubbed the iPhone Ultra, in the fall of 2026. What's more, the second half of 2026 will also see the launch of the so-called MacBook Ultra, replete with a touch-enabled OLED screen.
Moreover, Apple has been working on the all-new camera-equipped AirPods Pro that will feed a constant stream of visual information to the new Siri, allowing Apple's revamped voice assistant to understand its surroundings. Users will be able to use the new AirPods Pro to ask Siri about the objects in their vicinity, receive better and more personalized contextual reminders, and avail a much more detailed, step-by-step directional guidance. The product is currently in its design validation stage.
