Apple has informed developers this week that it is tightening the "What's New in This Version" section of the App Store with strict rules. The section is devoted to developers to mention all the changes which they have made in the new updated version of their respected apps. As we have mentioned earlier, developers will have the option available to edit the "What's New" text in the App Store before submitting the latest version of their respective app. With that said, if there are any changes to the text, it will now be a subject to the App Store review process by Apple. Lastly, the changes will be implemented starting April.
Apart from the edited text, a requirement will be extended to editing the URL of the app as well or the marketing URL as per the company's announcement post shared in iTunes Connect. So what could have been the reason for Apple to implement the change? Probably Apple wanted to have more control over what developers are sharing on App Store.
What information is passing through the App Store without its approval. Henceforth, Apple will automatically be notified of the information when it is passed through the approval process.
