Apple's CEO Tim Cook has reportedly taken into account his employees' concerns about the rather sluggish momentum towards AI, claiming that they will nail it.

Apple Is Reportedly Adopting a New Architecture For Siri AI, Integrating Agentic & Generative AI Capabilities

Well, Apple's stance towards AI has played a massive part in the discussion of the company's future with the technology since the Cupertino giant still hasn't managed to come up with a roadmap or a definitive path for what it will do with AI. The company is looking for options and leaning towards potential acquisitions or partnerships, but the prospects of an entirely in-house solution are gloomy for now. However, according to Bloomberg, Cook has told employees that Apple's late entry into the AI segment won't put them behind at all.

Apple must do this. Apple will do this. This is sort of ours to grab. We will make the investment to do it. We’ve rarely been first. There was a PC before the Mac; there was a smartphone before the iPhone; there were many tablets before the iPad; there was an MP3 player before iPod.

Cook says that Apple will invent the modern version of 'AI on smartphone' and that the firm will definitely lead the segment, although we still don't know how. There's no doubt that the company is under pressure right now. Despite reporting somewhat decent earnings, it still faces a tough time from US tariffs, and more importantly, competitors are leading in the AI space. The Cupertino giant did plan to introduce Siri infused with Apple Intelligence, but the project was delayed, which was a disappointment.

Craig Federighi, Apple's SVP of Software Engineering, explained that the delay in Siri was attributed to the company's approach of relying on two separate models for agentic and generative AI applications, but now, the firm is working on a new "hybrid architecture." For now, we await what Apple does next, but there are rumors of a potential acquisition that would spearhead the process, but at the same time, wouldn't provide the company with a native solution.
