AMD Ryzen 9000 "Zen 5" Desktop CPU prices have been confirmed and look very attractive versus Ryzen 7000 "Zen 4" CPUs.

AMD Ryzen 9000 Desktop CPU Prices Revealed At BestBuy: Flagship Ryzen 9 9950X For $599 US

The pricing information comes from online retailers such as BestBuy. The prices of the AMD Ryzen 9000 CPUs being listed at online retailers were a given as today was the official launch date of the new Zen 5 CPUs however, AMD had to push back the launch of these chips to August citing testing and quality issues encountered on the first batches. The new dates are the 8th of August for the Ryzen 7 9700X & Ryzen 5 9600X CPUs while the high-end chips, the Ryzen 9 9950X & the Ryzen 9 9900X, will hit retail shelves on the 15th of August.

Following are the prices disclosed for the next-gen Ryzen CPUs:

The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X 16-Core CPU would end up being a killer value against the Core i9-14900K and Core i9-14900KS, both of which retail above $500 US, are power-hungry & riddled with various instability issues. The Ryzen 9 9950X is aiming to be the fastest chip for multi-threaded tasks and is also expected to boast some really good gaming performance.

Meanwhile the $449 US price of the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X is also solid which will put some pressure on the Core i7-14700K CPUs. Once again, we are talking lower power consumption and lower CPU temperatures which will definitely be a positive thing for the Zen 5 core architecture.

The Ryzen 7 9700X at $359 US seems to be a good deal since it was recently revealed that the chip would end up slightly faster than the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, the best gaming chip at the moment while running at just 65W.

Lastly, the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X at $279 US makes it look much better than the previously expected $299 US pricing. The 6-core chip will be a decent mainstream solution for the AM5 segment while offering better value than the official prices of the last-gen parts.

Overall, it looks like AMD is going to attract lots of new PC builders to its AM5 platform with these price points, and with all the troubles that Intel is currently facing with its Desktop lineup, AMD might just take away a big chunk of that desktop market share.
