AMD's fastest gaming CPU, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, is now available at a record-low price of just $399 US at Microcenter.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Drops To Just $399 US, Fantastic Value For The World's Fastest Gaming CPU Powered By 3D V-Cache

The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is, without a doubt, the fastest CPU on the planet for gamers. It offers great gaming performance, incredible efficiency, and fantastic value. At launch, the chip was priced at an MSRP of $479 US, but since then, we have seen various deals, and the most notable price drop of $429 US, but that has been surpassed by an even better deal thanks to Microcenter.

At Microcenter, the same AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU is now available for $399.99 US, and what's even better is that you can save even more when getting a motherboard bundle deal. This is $80 US off the retail MSRP and a -16.7% drop. This is the lowest price that the chip has been at, and it is a perfect time for those who have been waiting to upgrade their PCs with some incredibly fast 3D V-Cache action.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core Desktop CPU

The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D "100-1000001084" was the first Zen 5-based CPU with 3D V-Cache technology. The CPU packs 8 cores and 16 threads, which are similar to previous-gen Ryzen 7 offerings with a 3D V-Cache. The CPU has a base clock of 4.7 GHz and a boost clock of 5.2 GHz, which is a solid +500/+200 MHz increase over the 7800X3D, respectively.

The CPU comes loaded with 32 MB of L3 cache on the single CCD and a 64 MB 3D V-Cache stack, which lies underneath the CCD. This is part of the second-generation 3D V-Cache design that now matches the size of the CCD, removing the need for structural silicon. This allows the CCD to have direct cooler access versus the 3D V-Cache stack, which is less thermally constrained. Another new feature on the 2nd Gen 3D V-Cache CPUs is full support of overclocking while supporting the same 120W TDP.

The deal comes at the same time when AMD is reported to be increasing prices across its Ryzen 9000 & older CPUs. While we hope the news isn't true, if it is, this might be the last time we see the Ryzen 7 9800X3D at such a low price point. As always, it's better to grab the CPU with a combo deal where you can snag a memory kit for free, which will be great considering the current prices on DDR5 memory and respective DRAM products.
