AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D Availability Worsens; Likely Hinting To Its End Of Life

The most popular and probably the best gaming CPU for the AM4 platform is disappearing from the market and might get discontinued soon.

Ryzen 7 5700X3D Price Increases While Availability Also Becomes Poor; Might Have Reached EOL

For the last two weeks, I have been tracking the prices and availability of the Ryzen 7 5700X3D processor. This is the last X3D CPU for the AM4 platform and the only 8-core X3D chip from the Ryzen 5000 family, which is currently available after Ryzen 7 5800X3D got discontinued. I am seeing the 5700X3D getting more expensive on major retailers in India, including Amazon, MDComputers, Prime ABGB, and others. In many cases, most of them don't have the CPU in stock.

Looks like this shortage is also seen in other regions of the world, including the EU and the NA regions. Currently, you won't find the Ryzen 7 5700X3D in stock on Amazon US, and the processor lists for nearly $350 on Newegg. As per Tweakers, the processor has reportedly reached end of life as reported by several retailers. Keep in mind that AMD hasn't announced this officially, but a lot of times, this is what happens when we see higher prices or lower availability.

Since Ryzen 7 5800X3D was already discontinued several months ago, the 5700X3D looks to be on the same path. This 8-core/16-thread Zen 3 processor was the only AM4 saver since it offered leading gaming performance compared to even higher-end SKUs. That said, even though there are still some good 5000 series processors selling well, the best possible upgrade for gaming will end with the 5700X3D discontinuation.

We recently published the motherboard sales numbers, which indicate that users have already transitioned to the AM5 platform, and AM4-compatible processors, i.e., the Ryzen 5000, are no longer the best sellers in various regions. We don't think AMD has any plans to release another Ryzen 5000X3D processor, and will rather continue expanding the X3D processors for the AM5 platform.
