Another X3D processor rolls out, but it's for the commercial workstation and desktops. AMD has also rolled out several new PRO Ryzen 9000 series processors.
AMD Debuts Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D and Ryzen 7 PRO 9755X3D Processors Along With Four More Non-X3D PRO Ryzen 9000 Chips
We first saw a glimpse of the AMD Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D in an NBD shipment manifest several months ago and then in a benchmark last week. AMD has now officially launched the processor alongside many more PRO series Ryzen 9000 processors. AMD confirmed the launch of new Ryzen PRO 9000 series processors in a press release, and the new SKUs are available on the official website.
These include the new flagship Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D for the workstation segment, featuring 16-cores and a 32-thread configuration. This processor brings up to 5.5 GHz boost and a base clock of 4.3 GHz, as was previously seen. The processor is rated at 170W, similar to the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, and brings the same two GPU cores based on the RDNA 2 architecture. The processor brings an additional 64 MB of L3 cache on one CCD, bringing 128 MB of total L3 cache.
- AMD Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D: 16-core/32-thread, 128 MB L3 cache, 4.3/5.5 GHz, 170W
- AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 9755X3D: 8-core/16-thread, 96 MB L3 cache, 4.7/5.2 GHz, 170W
Then we have a mid-range workstation PRO X3D chip called the Ryzen 7 9755X3D, which brings somewhat identical specs to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The Ryzen 7 9755X3D uses the same 8-core/16-thread arrangement as the 9800X3D and features up to 5.2 GHz. The only difference is that the 9755X3D is reserved for the commercial segment. It will have the same 96 MB of L3 cache and will work at a default TDP of 120W.
Then we have four more processors in the PRO lineup, including Ryzen 9 PRO 9955, Ryzen 9 PRO 9965, Ryzen 7 PRO 9755, and Ryzen 5 PRO 9655. These are 6 to 16 core variants, featuring up to 5.5 GHz clock, and are rated at 120-170W. These are the workstation-segment variants of the existing Ryzen 9000 series processors, featuring 32-64 MB of L3 cache.
