Alienware Teases New Area 51 Gaming Desktop Equipped With the Dual 3D V-Cache Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Processor
AMD announced its fastest gaming processor, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, at CES, but we all know the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 remained missing from the presentation. It's not that AMD doesn't have any plans to release it, since various reports have already confirmed that this dual 3D V-Cache CPU does exist. AMD instead told users to "stay tuned" for the processor, as it plans to release it later.
The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 will be the first-ever X3D chip to bring 3D V-Cache chiplet on both CCDs, and while we await AMD's announcement on the official release, Alienware has already mentioned it on their official Weibo account. Alienware teased a new Area 51 gaming desktop, which supposedly features the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 processor. However, it didn't reveal when the new desktop will launch.
That said, another system integrator called Sytronix has mentioned the processor on its workstations page. Sytronix has prepared "NexStation", which utilizes the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 processor paired with the Radeon AI PRO R9700 workstation GPU. It says the workstations will soon be available for pre-order, and also confirmed the features of 9950X3D2, including the X3D2 architecture and 16-core configuration, which makes it an ideal chip for hybrid workloads. We have already talked about the detailed specifications of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 previously, which positions it as the flagship offering in the Zen 5 lineup.
