The feature set has increased in the AirPods Pro 3, making them a major upgrade over the AirPods Pro 2. While there are notable differences between Apple’s current-generation flagship wireless earbuds and the older ones, not everyone will agree to paying the full price. Fortunately, Amazon has introduced a small discount for those contemplating the purchase, with the pair now available for $229.99 instead of $249.99.

The latest price drop on Amazon isn’t the lowest that we’ve seen for the AirPods Pro 3, as the latter have been available for $219.99 during Black Friday and Cyber Monday. For $229.99, you’re getting the same H2 chip, but Apple has now used foam-infused eartips that deliver a better seal and as a result, better Active Noise Cancellation. Apple has also incorporated better audio algorithms to improve sound quality, which, in turn, also improves Transparency Mode, allowing ambient sounds to become more natural.
Coming to the battery life, the AirPods Pro 3 is advertised to last for up to 8 hours on a single charge with Active Noise Cancellation enabled, and up to 10 hours with Transparency Mode. To help with the fitting, Apple has included more eartip sizes, going all the way up to XXS, so that there are no size compatibility problems encountered when purchasing the AirPods Pro 3. A U2 chip has also been incorporated to the wireless charging case, which helps locate it from a longer distance of up to 200 feet, or 60 meters.
Also, for the first time, Apple has added heart-rate monitoring to the AirPods Pro 3, making it yet another health-focused feature that you won’t find in any other wireless earbuds. About the only complaint we have regarding these premium earphones is that Apple has reduced the total battery life from the wireless charging case, which now delivers a 24-hour runtime on a single charge, compared to the 30-hour endurance from the AirPods Pro 2’s case.
However, one drawback shouldn’t undermine your purchasing decision, and if you’re getting one of the best wireless earbuds for $229.99, it is an offer worth considering. Unfortunately, since these price cuts are extremely rare, you’ll have to move quickly.
