One more flagship Strix Halo-based mini PC has arrived. This one is a cube-shaped host that offers the 16-core Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor.
ACEMAGIC Announces MA1 PRO+, Boasting Top-End Strix Halo Chip, and Up To 128 GB Memory and 12 TB Storage
Chinese mini PC maker, ACEMAGIC, has announced its first Strix Halo-based mini PC called M1A PRO+, which offers the top-of-the-line Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor. The company has a wide range of mini PC products in its catalog, offering both Intel and AMD platforms, including Strix Point chips, but the M1A PRO+ will be its flagship model.
The MA1 PRO+ looks identical to the MA1 TANK 03, as it uses the same cube chassis with fancy decorations. However, unlike the MA1 TANK 03 that boasts the Core i9 12900H and RTX 4060, the PRO+ version will stick to the processor only, as the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 already offers an RTX 4060-equivalent iGPU called Radeon 8060S. The processor offers a solid 16-core/32-thread Zen 5-based core configuration and offers 40 GPU Compute Units based on RDNA 3.5-architecture.
This chip is now getting a wide adoption by numerous manufacturers in mini PCs as well as gaming handhelds. It looks like ACEMAGIC isn't taking any risk when it comes to how much RAM and storage capacity users can have. Even though the current situation for getting decently-priced RAM and SSD is painful, ACEMAGIC is offering configurations up to 128 GB LPDDR5X-8000 memory, which will surely be extremely expensive, and up to 12 TB of storage capacity.
The mini PC will also have the latest connectivity features, such as WiFi 7, but ACEMAGIC hasn't shared much about other specs, such as rear I/O, cooling, or whether the MA1 PRO+ supports a discrete GPU as well. ACEMAGIC hasn't announced its price or availability yet, but it will unveil more on the mini PC in the coming days. Price-wise, it isn't going to be any less than $2,000 even for the base configuration, and we can't even speculate on the price of the 128 GB / 12 TB configuration.
