Sometimes, a silly mistake like uploading incorrect payment details can end up costing you dearly. Just ask our 19-year-old protagonist, who has now racked up a bill of $838 on T-Mobile across 3 smartphones, an Apple Watch, 2 AirPods, and 1 tablet.

A teenager is now on the hook for a T-Mobile bill of $838, with late-payment fees and activation charges adding to the ensuing excruciating financial pain

We've sort of become accustomed to seeing teenage inanity. And today, we've received bucketloads of that stuff, courtesy of a new Reddit post.

Basically, our protagonist typically pays the bills associated with not just his smartphone but also two others that belong to his siblings. He also handles any ancillary charges emanating from 2 AirPods, an Apple Watch, and 1 tablet.

As per our protagonist's own admission, he entered the details for a wrong payment card on T-Mobile's system, resulting in his failure to make payments for two consecutive months.

His monthly charge amounts to $319.16. For two months, the bill swells to $638.32. To restore service, T-Mobile typically charges between $20 and $23 per device. Assuming a $23 charge for each of his seven devices, this cost alone amounts to $161. This brings the total cost so far to $799.32. Finally, T-Mobile also charges a late fee that likely amounts to $38.88, bringing the grand total to $838.20.

The moral of the story is that you should always try to pay your carrier's bills on time. T-Mobile and other carriers have stacked their payment terms in such a manner that you will face progressively punitive charges as the delinquency becomes longer. And finally, pay close attention to your payment details as you are entering them for a critical service.
