The new M3 iMac features the same design as the original M1 version, but the internals are where the device marks a difference. The M3 chip is based on TSMC's 3nm architecture, delivering advanced computational and graphical performance compared to the M1 chip. The company also saw fit to increase the Unified Memory from 16GB on the M1 iMac to 24GB on the new M3 iMac. This will allow the iMac to deliver faster computational performance while handling complex tasks.
Other than this, the new M3 iMac also comes with WiFi 6E, which will allow for a secure and reliable internet connection. Furthermore, the data transfer speeds would also improve. WiFi 6E will also allow the iMac to connect to 6GHz networks. Moreover, Bluetooth 5.3 is also part of the mix, allowing accessories to pair with improved connectivity and better range than before. Altogether, the company has significantly improved the machine, which would easily pass through another generational upgrade.
Externally, the device is the same as its predecessor, and it is also available in the same color options. The rest of the design has been kept the same amid rumors of a redesigned stand with more adjustable options.
