WhatsApp is gradually extending the functionality of its platform on iOS and Android, making it easier for users to share and communicate. The company is working to bring another feature to the mix, which will allow iPhone users to log into multiple WhatsApp accounts on a single device.
WhatsApp will soon let iPhone users use multiple accounts on a single device
Previously, WhatsApp support for multiple accounts was only available to Android beta testers, but the company has finally given access to TestFlight app users on iOS. This will allow users to use and manage their personal and business accounts on the same device. Once the feature rolls out, it will eliminate the need for users to use a separate WhatsApp Business app to access a different account.
WABetaInfo shared the news, and based on the app's beta version 25.2.10.70, users will have the option available to create a new account or log into their existing accounts by scanning a QR code. This will allow the two WhatsApp accounts to be linked and ready to use on a single iPhone.
You have to take note that even though the accounts are linked, chat backups, settings, and notifications will remain different. Users can also easily switch from one account to another without the need to change the app or the device. If you are not familiar with it, Meta has also allowed its Instagram and Threads app to be used with multiple accounts. WhatsApp is following the same approach with the new feature, and we believe that the operation of switching accounts will remain the same.
On Instagram, all you have to do is double-tap your profile icon or press and hold it to select the account you want to open. At this point, we are not sure when the company will finally release the update for iPhone as it currently rests in the beta phase. However, judging by the appearance of the build, the update could be right around the corner. Meta has also announced that WhatsApp is now part of the company's Account Center, which will allow users to manage their information more seamlessly. We will keep you posted when the update is available to all users.
