The OLED giant wants to diversify its options and doesn't care if it needs to adopt OLED technology from its competitor.
Samsung to Debut LG WOLED-Based 4K/FHD High Refresh Rate Monitor Next Year; Will Also Release Several Upgraded 4K and 2K QD-OLED Monitors
Samsung is the biggest player in the OLED market, and with over a million shipments last year alone, it stands as the biggest challenge in front of other OLED makers such as LG Display. Its latest-gen QD-OLED is now being adopted in the flagship QD-OLED 2K, and 4K gaming monitors by major monitor makers like ASUS, MSI, GIGABYTE, etc., but the lack of WOLED inventory makes Samsung source WOLED from its competitors like LG Display.
While Samsung can manufacture its own WOLED panels, currently sourcing from LG Display is cheaper for the company. Looks like Samsung will continue getting WOLED panels from LG Display even next year, but this time it will be launching a gaming monitor instead of just manufacturing WOLED TVs. As reported by Channel Gate, Samsung is going to launch several high-end OLED monitors next year, including QD-OLED models and a WOLED monitor as well.
Leaks reveal Samsung’s OLED monitor lineup scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2026:
Week 1:
S27FG604SC, a 2K 500Hz QD-OLED monitor. It’s a derivative model of the G60SF series and comes with one fewer USB cable compared to the 602SC.Week 6:
S27HG612SC, a 2K 240Hz QD-OLED model. It is a simplified upgrade of the older G61SD series, with the height-adjust/rotation stand removed.Week 17:
S27HG802SC and S32HG802SC, both 4K 240Hz QD-OLED monitors. Compared to the older G80SD, these models add 90W USB-C power delivery and upgrade DisplayPort to 2.1.Week 20:
S27HG702WC, Samsung’s first OLED monitor using LG’s W-OLED panel. It features 4K 165Hz WOLED and supports dual-mode FHD at 330Hz.- ChannelGate (Machine Translated)
The first week of 2026 should see a new variant of the 27-inch Odyssey G60SF series monitor, "S27FG604SC", launching with a 2K resolution and 500 Hz refresh rate configuration. In the second week of Feb, it's expected to see another QD-OLED "S27HG612SC" debuting with a 2K@240Hz configuration, which is a nerfed G61SD monitor, stripped of its ergonomic adjustments. Then at the beginning of May, Samsung is expected to launch upgraded 4K@240Hz QD-OOLED monitors, boasting a 90W USB Type C delivering and a DP 2.1 port. These are "S27HG802SC" and "S32HG802SC", offering the same configuration in 27-inch and 32-inch screen sizes, respectively.
At the end of June, Samsung is reportedly releasing "S27HG702WC", which is going to be its first LG Display WOLED-based 27-inch dual-mode gaming monitor, boasting 4K@165Hz and FHD@330Hz modes. So, essentially, Samsung is keeping its OLED monitor lineup as versatile as possible, offering different OLED variants for establishing a wider consumer base, and sourcing the WOLED from LG Display will only help it in reducing overall costs. Moreover, it will be easier for Samsung to get even larger WOLED panels from LG's big WOLED arsenal as soon as it needs, and expanding its lineup even further won't be a problem.
