Samsung is determined this year to bring forward noteworthy developments, especially on the AI front. While 2024 was not the most optimal for the tech giant in terms of innovations, that is about to change this year. We saw the emphasis on integrating the technology with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series and how one of the major selling points of the lineup was the AI-powered features. Now, another interesting experience is being rolled out, which marks a further leap in the artificial intelligence experience. Samsung has announced that it will be bringing real-time visual conversation capabilities to the Galaxy S25 series with the Gemini Live update.
Samsung is now bringing real-time visual conversations powered by AI, starting with the Galaxy S25 series
Samsung is arduously working to establish itself in AI-driven technologies and stand out from the competition. While it has repeatedly emphasized the focus on technology, the company seems to be taking another major step by announcing a new AI-powered feature with Gemini Live that will bring real-time visual conversations to Galaxy devices.
Galaxy users would be able to engage in more natural, real-time interactions with this new AI-powered feature, which could simplify daily tasks. All the users would need to do is press and hold the side button for Gemini Live to see what is in front of them and then engage in conversation, making the experience more seamless and intuitive.
Earlier, you could type or speak the commands, but now, with Gemini Live, you can use your phone's camera or screen-sharing option to help with everyday chores like finding a matching shirt or even when requiring help with online shopping. With this advancement, Samsung is set on making AI features blend into your daily life seamlessly and be able to use visual context in real-time interactions for better and smarter conversations. If we are to draw a comparison, Apple's Siri and Amazon's Alexa are primarily voice-driven, making this experience a novel and differentiated one.
While sharing this step in the company's blog post, Samsung's Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Experience Office, Jay Kim, emphasized how the company is determined to push the boundaries with AI and is focused on offering smarter interactions. He stated:
Together with Google, we are marking a bold step toward the future of mobile AI, delivering smarter interactions that are deeply in sync with how we live, work and communicate. With this new visual capability, Galaxy S25 series brings next-generation AI experiences to life, setting new standards for how users engage with the world through their devices.
Gemini Live, with its camera and screen-sharing capabilities, is said to start rolling out to all Galaxy S25 series at no additional cost starting from April 7th. This could help Samsung set the Galaxy S25 distinctively apart from its predecessor and the competition with its approach to making smartphones feel closer to being true assistants through the capability to understand and respond similarly to humans.
