NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 5090 D V2 graphics card is expected to launch on 12th August, bringing flagship-tier Blackwell gaming to China.

NVIDIA's Export Compliant GeForce RTX 5090 D V2 GPU Launches In China Next Month, Cuts Memory Down To 24 GB

According to Expreview and Benchlife, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 D V2 is finally coming to China, and AICs have already been notified about the launch date which is all set for 12th August. The RTX 5090 D V2 will be replacing the RTX 5090 D as the latest export compliant variant which has been designed to meet US regulation guidance. This will be the third gaming graphics card made exclusive for China in the same way as the RTX 4090 D and RTX 5090 D before it.

According to relevant channels, NVIDIA has preliminarily determined the launch time of RTX 5090 D V2, which is 9 pm on August 12, 2025, but the pricing is not clear yet.

In addition, it is reported that there is not much difference between the RTX 5090 D V2 and the RTX 5090 D in the game test.

According to previous reports, the GPU will feature the GB202-240 die versus the GB202-250 on the 5090 D and GB202-300 on the standard 5090. The card will also feature a newer PCB design, the PG145 SKU 40, which is due to changes within the VRAM and GPU layout.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 D V2 will feature the same 21,760 cores, but a 24 GB GDDR7 memory configuration across a 384-bit interface. That's a VRAM cut of 25%. We don't have more info regarding the clock speeds, but we can expect gaming performance to remain similar so long as the VRAM doesn't become a bottleneck.

Benchlife also states that while the TGP remains the same at 575W, partners will be allowed to adjust it up to 600W which is a 25W increase. This means that factory-OC models will be available. Also, there's no word on the price yet. The 24 GB VRAM is a major cut-down versus the previous 5090 D model so we do expect NVIDIA to adjust the pricing a bit lower because at the same price, it will be a major letdown for Chinese gamers.

In addition to the 5090 D V2, NVIDIA is also prepping a new and fully compliant RTX PRO GPU for China, alongside the restart of sales of H20, and also reports of a B40 "Blackwell" variant.
