Lost Soul Aside is far from being the most visually advanced game of the current console generation, but even so, it has to run at a low resolution range to achieve 60 FPS gameplay on base PlayStation 5.
A new comparison video shared by ElAnalistaDeBits puts the base PS5, PS5 Pro, and PC versions of the game running side by side, confirming resolution and framerate targets for the two console versions. While the visual differences between the base and Pro console versions are minimal, what is definitely striking are the Performance Mode resolution ranges - between 1189p and 635p on base PS5 and between 1398 and 1080p on PS5 Pro - which are really low for a game with relatively dated visuals. Performance, however, seems to be stable for the most part, with none of the stuttering issues seen in the PC version of the game.
Lost Soul Aside has been in the works for a long time, growing from a solo project to a much bigger game that sadly did not meet players' expectations regarding visuals and story. It's a shame the game was released in such a poor technical state and at a price that's too high for what it offers, as beneath the evident issues, there's a generally solid character action game with a great combat system that allows for great player expression.
Lost Soul Aside is now available on PC and PlayStation 5.
