The lightest 16-inch laptop is here, offering a bigger screen than available 1kg laptop models.
Lenovo Launches Lecoo Air 16, Weighing Just 1 KG and 1cm Thick, Priced at $700
We finally have 1Kg 16-inch laptop on the market, and it's by Lenovo, the most popular PC brand in the world when it comes to the highest PC shipments. Lenovo calls it "Lecoo Air 16" and it's "supposedly" the world's first 16-inch laptop that weighs under 1Kg and measures just 1cm in thickness. It's not the first 1Kg laptop in the world, as we already have options like ASUS Zenbook S13 and A14, which weigh 1Kg, but those feature a smaller 13 and 14-inch screen sizes, respectively.
The Lecoo Air 16, however, runs on older hardware, which is weird since we already have more powerful and more power-efficient CPUs in the market. As per new report, Lenovo will be offering multiple configurations for the laptop and it should be present with various CPU models.
Nonetheless, the laptop uses magnesium alloy material for its casing, and it has a wonderful 16-inch display with 2.5K resolution (2560 x 1440p), running at a 120Hz refresh rate. It uses the XPS seamless keyboard, which looks similar to the keyboard on the Dell 16 Premium, and boasts the same color as the rest of the body. Lecoo Air 16 looks quite sleek and simplistic, and its ultra-lightweight design makes it perfect for travel, considering you don't have problem settling with the Core Ultra 5 125H.
The rest of the specs are up to the mark, including 32 GB LPDDR5 RAM clocked 6400 MT/s, and a 1 TB storage solution. The laptop boasts a 60Wh battery and should run for a decent amount of hours. For connectivity, there are 2x USB Type A, 2x USB Type C, and a 3.5mm Audio Jack, and for external display, users can use the HDMI port.
As per the report, the Lenovo Lecoo Air 16 should launch on 30th October at a price tag of 4,999 Yuan or US$700, and will be exclusive to China.
