iOS 18 is rumored to be the biggest update the iPhone has ever received, potentially due to advanced AI integration. The company will be hosting its WWDC 2024 event for developers and the general public in the first half of June. In his Power On newsletter, Gurman also stated that Apple is planning to introduce significant variations in Mail, Photos, and the Fitness app. This is the first time we are hearing details on the aforementioned apps, and if the news has any weight, we might be looking at a complete overhaul on a system level.

The analyst did not highlight the changes that we should be looking forward to, but we suspect we will be seeing a plethora of AI integrations. With Apple working on AI algorithms and large language models, iOS 18 will redefine how users use their devices. We have also heard that the Cupertino giant is also looking to reimagine the Calculator app, which will make room for complex equations.

Gurman also corroborated earlier rumors of a smarter Siri, which has been under development for a while. The company is also working to bring visual changes to the mix with more customization options for the Home Screen. Users will be able to place icons on the Home Screen with empty spaces in between.
