Apple unveiled its big iOS 18 update on June 10, and the first developer beta was released soon after the event, but the company is not following its weekly beta cycle. Once a new version of iOS is released, the company shifts to weekly beta updates, but since iOS 18 is new and jam-packed with a plethora of new utilities, beta updates arrive almost two weeks after the subsequent build. The company has now delivered on its promise and released iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 2 for all iPhone and iPad models that support it.
Apple has released iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 2 to developers with two major features
Beta builds will allow developers to test what is new in the latest versions, and the company has already given us a hint of what we should be looking forward to with iOS 18 beta 2. Before we detail what is coming with the build, note that your Apple ID should be connected to your Developer Account to receive the beta over the air. To install the beta, you can follow our dedicated guide, which works for the iPhone and iPad.
iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 2 will come with a plethora of improvements, which developers can check out later on after installation. The company stated last week that developers should expect two major additions which includes iPhone Mirroring and SharePlay Screen Sharing. iPhone Mirroring will allow users to mirror the screen of their iPhone to the Mac, allowing them to fully take control of what is happening on the device and interact with it.
With SharePlay Screen Sharing, users can interact with the content on other users' screens, allowing them to guide on several tasks. Users are basically given the option to control the other person's iPhone and take action. Apple will also be adding additional features in iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 beta 2, so be sure to check them out. If you do not have a developer account, you can go over to Apple's website to make one right now. We will be covering the beta builds in extensive detail, so be sure to keep an eye out for in-depth coverage.
