Intel's upcoming Core Ultra 200S Plus "Arrow Lake Refresh" CPUs, such as the Ultra 9 290K Plus & Ultra 7 270K Plus, have leaked.
Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus "Arrow Lake Refresh" CPUs To Feature Higher Core Counts On Certain SKUs, Higher Clocks On The Rest
Intel has already confirmed its Arrow Lake Refresh CPU family, which will be launched in early 2026. We're expecting these CPUs to be announced at CES 2026. While we wait, it looks like more information about the family has leaked out regarding its two top SKUs, the Core Ultra 9 290K Plus & the Core Ultra 7 270K Plus.
The Intel Arrow Lake Refresh family will be part of the Core Ultra 200S Plus series and will feature higher core counts on certain SKUs and higher clock speeds on the rest. These CPUs will retain support on the LGA 1851 socket and will feature optimizations in the form of the 200S Plus Boost, etc, which will help to close the gap a bit with AMD's recent Zen 5-based Ryzen offerings, though it will be Nova Lake-S that will be the main desktop upgrade to look forward to next year.
Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus
So starting with the first CPU which has surfaced on the web, we have the Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus. The chip is an upgrade to the Core Ultra 7 265K and features a higher core count of 24 cores versus the 20 cores featured on its predecessor. The chip is based around an 8+16 configuration, packs 36 MB of L3 cache, and has clock speeds rated at 3.70 GHz base & 5.50 GHz boost. The boost clock is the same as the 265K, but the spec upgrade should provide a decent boost.
Core Ultra 7 270K Plus vs Core Ultra 7 265K
- 24 Cores vs 20 Cores
- Same 5.50 GHz Boost
- 36 MB vs 30 MB L3 Cache
The Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus "Arrow Lake Refresh" CPU was tested within a Lenovo OEM system with 48 GB of DDR5 memory operating at 7200 MT/s speeds and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090D GPU. As for performance, the CPU scored 3205 points in single-core and 22,206 points in the Geekbench 6 multi-core test. The score is about on par with the flagship Core Ultra 9 285K.

Intel Core Ultra 9 290K Plus
The other CPU that has been reported to be part of the Core Ultra 200S Plus family is the flagship Intel Core Ultra 9 290K Plus. This chip is expected to retain the same configuration unless the blue team suddenly comes out with a new Arrow Lake-S die, which remains highly unlikely. So we can expect the CPU to offer the same 24 cores, 24 threads, but with higher clock speeds and possibly a higher TDP too.
The Intel Core Ultra 200S Plus "Arrow Lake Refresh" family should also include a Core Ultra 5 SKU, though we don't have details of that chip yet. The lineup looks a lot like a last effort to clear some additional 800-series motherboard inventory before the launch of the next-gen Nova Lake-S platform, which will feature a brand new socket, "LGA 1954". Expect more leaks and details of the lineup in the coming months as we approach the launch.
