Intel's P-Core-only "Bartlett Lake-S" Desktop CPUs will feature up to 12 P-Cores and boost clocks up to 6.0 GHz on the LGA 1700 socket.
Intel Bartlett Lake-S Desktop CPUs Are Still Planned For Launch On LGA 1700 Socket: Feature Up To 12 P-Cores & 6.0 GHz Clocks
Intel's Bartlett Lake-S Desktop CPUs first appeared back in January 2024. Back then, it was expected that these chips would be another refresh based on the Raptor Lake lineup, but it turned out to be CPUs designed for Edge and Networking solutions, with some interesting configurations, including P-Core-only flavors with up to 12 P-Cores.
It's been a while since we have heard about Bartlett Lake-S CPUs, but it looks like the "A0" silicon is still planned for launch on LGA 1700 platforms. According to @Jaykihn0, the fastest model in the lineup is going to feature 12 P-Cores with SMT, so that 24 threads. Currently, Intel's Raptor Lake and Arrow Lake Desktop CPUs max out at just 8 P-Cores and feature a hybrid design with E-Cores. A P-Core only CPU is going to be interesting from Intel.
As per the latest information, the 12 P-Core Intel Bartlett Lake-S flagship CPU will fall under the 125W TDP segment, and feature a base clock of 3.4 GHz and boost clocks of 6.0 GHz on a single core & 5.5 GHz across all cores. This will match the boost clock speeds of the Core i9-14900K, which also tops out at 6.0 GHz, but falls slightly behind the 14900KS, which tops out at 6.2 GHz. The CPU won't feature an unlocked design, so there won't be overclocking support.
Given the 12 P-Cores and SMT support, the Intel Bartlett Lake-S 12-Core CPU would offer faster gaming performance than the Core Ultra 9 285K "Arrow Lake-S" Desktop CPU. Bartlett Lake-S is based on Raptor Cove P-Cores, and we have seen 13th/14th Gen CPUs perform faster than Arrow Lake-S's Lion Cove cores in gaming tasks.
The hybrid Arrow Lake-S design does help Arrow Lake-S in multi-threaded tasks. As for the launch, Bartlett Lake-S was initially expected in Q3 2025, but we can now expect the launch in late Q4 2025, so stay tuned.
