Samsung has witnessed raging success from its Galaxy S25 launch, assuming the latest figures from a research firm are to be believed, with the latest flagship lineup recording more than three times the sales compared to the previous-generation Galaxy S24 range. While we will share the statistics below, the same data reveals that if the average sales number was accounted for after the pre-order period ended, it is Samsung’s last year’s lineup that performed significantly better.
New research reveals that the first-month sales of the Galaxy S25 were 4.56 million units, with the Galaxy S25 Ultra unsurprisingly making the most of the total
The latest information from Hana Securities was posted by tipster @Jukanlosreve, who mentions on his post on X that Samsung recorded total smartphone sales of 19.03 million units for February 2025, resulting in a 3 percent decrease compared to January, but a 15 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Even though sales have declined year-over-year, the first-month shipments saw Samsung experience a ton of success from its Galaxy S25 lineup.
Out of the 4.56 million units from the Korean giant’s premium offerings, the Galaxy S25 Ultra ended up taking the majority of that total with 2.55 million units, followed by the base model at 1.17 million units, and lastly, the Galaxy S25 Plus, which recorded shipments of 840,000 units. In comparison, the Galaxy S24 series’ first-month shipments only topped 1.42 million, but the research note reveals that this disparity is likely due to the difference in the launch timeline, and materializing an accurate comparison is ‘challenging.’
The data also reveals that if a daily shipments tally was recorded after the pre-order period ended, the Galaxy S24 series would have the edge, with 240,000 units sold, with the Galaxy S25 averaging 180,000 units. While the improvements in specifications would likely be one tactic to increase sales, early discounts could also lure customers from other alternatives. At this time, Amazon’s Big Spring Sale has slashed the price of all Galaxy S25 models by up to $254.99, giving potential buyers a rare opportunity to make one of these handsets their daily driver while availing some savings.
In a previous report, Samsung was reportedly eyeing a production output of 37 million units for 2025, making it 2 million units higher than what the Galaxy S24 garnered in 2024. Bear in mind that the aforementioned numbers may not provide the entire picture and we can only draw a conclusion of Samsung’s success when the year finishes.
