GALAX has unveiled its next-gen GeForce RTX 5080 HOF GPU with an insane power delivery, strong OC out of the box & premium white esthetics.
GALAX Debuts its Top-of-the-Line RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus & X Editions with up to 2730 MHz Boost Clock
GALAX is back with one of its best offerings in the RTX 50 series lineup. Being an NVIDIA board partner, the company had already showcased its GPUs a while ago but hasn't introduced its flagship offering till now. If you are familiar with GALAX's custom GPUs, you must be aware of the HOF (Hall of Fame) editions.
The company has introduced its HOF editions for the GeForce RTX 5080, namely the RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus and RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus X. Unfortunately, no mention of the RTX 5090 HOF editions yet, but it's possible shortly. The Hall of Fame editions usually bring the highest boost clocks out of the box and are aimed at intensive overclocking. This is why the HOF editions are generally utilized by overclockers to break world records.
With an extremely powerful VRM, the RTX 5080 HOF GPUs bring unparalleled stability and power delivery for reaching newer heights. You will find up to 14+6+6 power phases in these GPUs, comprising 70A DrMOS for high stability. Now compare this to the MSI RTX 5080 Vanguard edition, which we recently reviewed that features a solid 19 power phase configuration.
Apart from a terrific VRM, the GALAX GeForce RTX 5080 HOF GPUs also bring pretty high clocks. The RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus features up to 2685 MHz of boost in OC mode, while the RTX 5080 HOF OC LAB Plus X is a bit faster at 2730 MHz.
The GPUs are still rated at 360W TGP but can reach up to 400W with the default clock settings. As the GPUs can be overclocked higher than regular editions, expect the TGP to go beyond 400W with manual overclocking.
A single 12V-2x6 connector will still take care of the power requirements, and we also had a single 12-pin connector on the RTX 4080 HOF edition as well. The design is similar to its predecessor and offers a complete white shroud with beautiful RGB lighting extending to the crown. The GPUs bring two 102mm and one 92mm Frost Ring fans and bring the Error Detection LED system for convenience.
GALAX has launched these GPUs for sale but didn't reveal their prices. Also, it might take some time to see them on the shelves due to limited GPU availability.
