ASUS to Launch ASUS ROG Super Kill 27 Pro PG27AQWP-W, Featuring 540Hz@1440p and 720Hz@720p Modes Using LG Primary RGB Tandem OLED

Roughly two months ago, LG unveiled its 4th-generation OLED, also known as the Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel, which utilizes four layers of Green, Blue, and Red OLED panels instead of just three, as seen in the 3rd-generation OLED technology. It also showcased its first 720Hz OLED display at the event, which is now being deployed in ASUS's new flagship OLED offering, called the ROG Super OLED 27 Pro.

The ROG Super Kill 27 Pro is probably the first monitor to utilize the 4th-gen LG OLED with leading specifications, as has been showcased by ASUS's China General Manager, Tony. Keep in mind that it's not the "first" monitor to boast a 4th-gen LG OLED display, since LG already debuted the UltraGear 27GX700A with this panel, boasting a 280Hz@1440p configuration. Hence, the ROG Super Kill 27 is the "first" 720Hz@720p monitor with LG's latest OLED panel.

The monitor was unveiled a few days ago, and the reports suggest that ASUS is going to launch it officially in a few days. The ROG Super Kill 27 Pro will have the leading display configurations using the RGB Tandem OLED panel. It won't just offer improved visual quality and brightness, but also the highest refresh rate at different resolutions we have ever seen. According to the specifications, the ROG Super Kill 27 Pro will boast a dual-mode display configuration, featuring 1440p resolution with up to 540Hz refresh rate, and up to 720 Hz refresh rate at 720p resolution.

LG also released the same spec for its fastest OLED yet, but later it confirmed that the display could boast 720 Hz at 1080p resolution. However, the ROG Super Kill 27 Pro won't be supporting that mode. The spec slide reveals that the ASUS ROG Super Kill 27 Pro will boast the latest DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 port, offering excellent support for high-quality visuals, and will also have several USB ports for connectivity.

The new panel has also achieved a slightly lower response time of 0.02ms compared to previous OLED panels and comes with True Black HDR 500 certification for vivid visuals. The ASUS ROG Super Kill 27 Pro will be sold with the model name "PG27AQWP-W" worldwide, but in China, the monitor will be sold with "ROG Super Kill 27 Pro" naming. As per the report, the monitor is set to launch on 1st November, 2025, and is priced at 8,499 Yuan, which translates to around US$1,193.
