The iPhone 17 launch is scheduled to happen in early September, and according to the latest details, Apple has commenced production of four models as it prepares for its future announcements. Just like on previous occasions, Foxconn has been tasked with fulfilling millions of orders, but on this occasion, the assembling giant will kick off its operations from regions outside of China as Apple aims to appease the Trump administration while also saving itself the trouble of having to pay massive levies on iPhones arriving from overseas markets.
Due to their exclusive upgrades, Apple will likely give production preference to the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max
Industry sources have informed China Securities Journal, with information spotted by Patently Apple, stating that the iPhone 17 family has undergone mass production. This year will be the first that all four models slated to launch next month will be assembled in both India and China. Once again, Foxconn will lure workers into its workspace of thousands by offering them bumped-up signing bonuses and rebates as the company prepares itself for a demand surge, so it will need a sizable headcount bump that will dedicate hours and ensure that Apple’s requirements are met.
According to the report, Foxconn’s regular workers will receive a personal bonus of 5,400 yuan, or $752, with dispatched employees receiving a rebate of 8,000 yuan ($1,114) plus a subsidy of 1,600 yuan, or $223. Some workers have also reportedly received bonuses of up to 9,300 yuan, or $1,294. There is currently no confirmation on the initial iPhone 17 units that will be shipped this year, but additional details state that Foxconn has expanded in India and has involved Tata Group’s plant in Tamil Nadu to speed up the assembly frequency.
Tata Group’s factories will account for up to half of India’s iPhone production, with the exports figure said to climb rapidly. In the four months since Apple decided to branch out of China, the total value of iPhone exports from India has reached $7.5 billion. While there are no updates on which specific iPhone 17 model will be mass produced in higher numbers, we believe that, thanks to their exclusive features, the ‘Pro’ range will be given preference, as these two have historically commanded the lion’s market share of shipments. Based on German sources, the iPhone 17 announcement will be held on September 9, so mark your calendars for the aforementioned date and let us keep our fingers crossed.
