Prices of AMD's GPUs, including the gaming "Radeon" lineup, are expected to increase due to rising memory costs.
AMD Radeon Gaming Lineup Amongst The GPUs That Will Soon See A Price Hike Due To Rising Memory Costs
Following our report from a few days ago, it looks like AMD is the first GPU manufacturer that is expected to raise the prices of its GPU lineup, which would include products within the gaming "Radeon" family. The report comes from Chinese Board Channels, where it is reported that due to rising memory costs, AMD is notifying its partners of an imminent price hike.
We have all seen how all major DRAM manufacturers have increased the prices of their memory and flash products. This price hike comes as demand from the AI segment continues to rise for such components, and DRAM/NAND manufacturers haven't been upping the production lines to meet the demand. Instead, the production remains sluggish, and existing products are seeing massive price hikes of over 2x.
It is reported that AMD has sent out a notification that, due to rising memory prices, it will also increase the prices of its GPU families. The report states that this will be the second price hike issued by AMD, with the first one issued last month in October. While AMD has yet to announce an implementation of the new prices, it is expected that the next GPU allotment to its partners will come with a higher attached price.
AMD Internally Notifies of Second GPU Price Increase
(Channel Gate, November 17, 2025, 12:04 PM, Shanghai) AMD GPUs already saw a price increase around October, but the increase was minor and not reflected in the cost of AMD cards. However, AMD recently announced internally that due to rising memory costs, a second price increase will be implemented. The specific implementation date has not yet been officially announced. AMD has clarified that due to a significant increase in memory procurement costs, the next shipment price for GPUs and memory will increase, with a larger increase potentially affecting all models. The specific amount and implementation time are not yet confirmed.

The report also states that the price hike will potentially impact all GPUs, which include the gaming lineup consisting of Radeon graphics cards for consumer, workstation, and AI segments. A confirmed timeframe is not known, but according to the previous report, NVIDIA is also considering a similar price hike across its GPUs, which is planned for early 2026. So it's not just AMD, but also NVIDIA and others who rely on DRAM products such as GDDR/LPDDR, that will be increasing the prices of their products, (a move that could kill off budget GPUs entirely) as memory shortages drive costs up.
Neither AMD nor NVIDIA is to be blamed here, as they weren't responsible for this price increase. It's the DRAM sector that didn't increase production to meet the AI demand, which has resulted in shortages and the respective price hikes.
