Acer joins the race with MSI and ASUS to bring its own high-end QD-OLED gaming monitors. Debuts Predator X32 X2 and X27U X1 gaming displays.

Acer Introduces Predator X32 X2 with 4K@240Hz and X27U X1 with 2K@240Hz QD-OLED Panels for Enthusiasts

Acer's gaming monitors catalog lacks QD-OLED gaming monitors and, while it does have one, that's an ultrawide display and can be only maxed out at 175Hz. With the introduction of two new QD-OLED gaming monitors, Acer no longer lags behind other manufacturers and has joined the highly competitive race to attract enthusiast consumers.

The company has debuted two new high-end gaming monitors, featuring Quantum Dot OLED displays. The Quantum Dot layer helps regular OLED displays achieve higher brightness and visual quality, which has been adopted by top monitor manufacturers like ASUS and MSI. Acer's new Predator X32 X2 and Predator X27U X1 both bring QD-OLED panels and have a lot in common except for the screen size and resolution.

It's likely that Acer has sourced its QD-OLED panels from Samsung, similar to ASUS, MSI, and Gamemax. Samsung has been the leading QD-OLED manufacturer and has recently aimed for a 50% increase in production of QD-OLED panels this year.

The Predator X32 X2 features a 31.5" display, boasts a 3840x2160 resolution, and can run at up to 240Hz refresh rate. The Predator X27U X1, on the other hand, brings a smaller 26.5" screen size and a 1440p resolution. It can also run at up to 240Hz refresh rate, but ASUS and MSI's latest QHD QD-OLED monitors are still superior due to the 500Hz refresh rate.

Nonetheless, the core specifications are alike, and we see a quick response time of just 0.03ms GtG as well as AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology for tear-free gaming. The Predator X32 X2 is identical to the Predator X27U X1 in most specs, including 250 Nits of brightness, a contrast ratio of 1M:1, viewing angles, and true 10-bit colors. However, there are some small differences.

The Predator X27U X1 brings more powerful 5W speakers compared to the 2W speakers on the Predator X32 X2. On the other hand, the latter has a higher height adjustment range of up to 150mm compared to 120mm on the 27-inch iteration. These gaming monitors bring modern connectivity features and top-notch gaming technologies for immersive and competitive gaming.

The Predator X27U X1 has been launched for sale in North America at $599.99 and will be available in the EMEA region in June at 699 Euros, in the UK in April at £699, and in China in March at 3,999 Yuan. The Predator X32 X2 will be available in NA in June at $999.99, EMEA in August at €1,199, UK at £999, and in China in Q2 at 5,999 Yuan.
