You Can Jailbreak iOS 11.4 with the Latest Electra 1.0.3 Release
Some insanely good news (with a small catch). You can now jailbreak iOS 11.4 using Electra 1.0.3 on iPhone X, iPhone 8 or iPhone 7.
Electra 1.0.3 Lets You Jailbreak iOS 11.4 Beta 3 on iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus – Exploit Patched in Final Release
The release of the latest version of Electra really caused a stir in the jailbreak community in a good way as it allowed users to jailbreak iOS 11.3.1 without any trouble. Tweaks are being updated as we speak, and things are coming along nicely for those on iOS 11.3.1.
However, Electra has been receiving updates in the background to ensure a far better experience for new users. The latest release, version 1.0.3, adds support to jailbreak iOS 11.4. But obviously, there’s a small catch here.
See, the thing is, the exploit that makes Electra work in the first place is still there up to iOS 11.4 Beta 3 after which it was patched by Apple. In other words: if you are currently on iOS 11.4 Beta 3 or earlier, you can go right ahead and use the latest version of Electra (download here) to jailbreak your device. You can use Cydia Impactor to side-load the Electra jailbreak file onto your device. Basically the steps are same as before except that you’ll be doing everything on iOS 11.4 Beta instead.
There’s some good news in all this too. Apple is currently signing iOS 11.4 Beta 1, Beta 2 and Beta 3 for a certain set of devices. This includes the iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 7 Plus and the iPhone 7. This in turn means that you can downgrade your device right away and be on a beta firmware release if you want to in order to jailbreak using Electra.
Here are the iOS 11.4 Beta 3 direct download links for iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Just use iTunes to restore your device and you’ll be good to go. Make sure you’ve backed everything up beforehand. Please keep in mind that Apple is not currently signing iOS 11.4 Beta for any other device other than the ones mentioned above.
