The Xiaomi Mi5 Leaks Today With Smooth Design; No Word On Launch Date
As things have become official on the Snapdragon 820, we should be expecting Xiaomi's next flagship smartphone quite soon, perhaps even in early 2016. While there's little word on the device's launch date so far, judging by the little details that we've managed to uncover so far, the device does seem to be progressing smoothly in terms of development. After a long wait, today an image has surfaced that claims to show the device in the flesh so lets take a look below and see what the Xiaomi Mi5 is all about.
Alleged Xiaomi Mi5 Image Shows Device With Ultra Thin Bezels And Sleek Design
Even though we've been seeing some mixed information surface about the Xiaomi Mi5's specifications, any visual leaks have been absent from the rumor mill so far. Just as it has been the case with some other flagships, namely Samsung's Galaxy S7 and LG's G5, Xiaomi's Mi5 has also seen several speculations about its specifications surface, so today's image serves as a nice breath of fresh air.
Taking a look at the image above, we see that the device does appear to have quite a sleek design, that should place it right at the top of the flagship food chain in terms of design. It also appears to be made completely out of metal though the absence of rear shots make this hard to guess. Given the trend of the mobile world to associate all metal devices with premium quality, we wouldn't be surprised if Xiaomi also chooses to take a similar route with the Mi5.
It does however match with an image that surfaced quite a while back, that allegedly claimed to show the Mi5's rear. Overall design language does appear to be quite similar, with both the devices sporting simplistic speakers and a USB port at the bottom. The overall curvature and form factor also appears to be similar, which does make today's image slightly more credible.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 on board, coupled with a 5.3 inch screen. Camera details about the Xiaomi Mi5 have been rather interesting, with some sources claiming that the company will be introducing a dual camera on the smartphone next year. Whether this will turn out to be true or not, only time can tell, but we're eager for Xiaomi to launch the Mi5 as soon as it can so that it can be judged whether the wait has been worth it. Thoughts?
