Impressive, Alleged And Live Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s Leaked Image Suggests Virtual Fingerprint Recognition Is Present On Upcoming Smartphone

As we're finally done with Samsung's customary keynote to kick the year in motion, it's time to look at what other juicy devices the rumor mill has in store. Right now, we've got the Mi Mix 2s as a hot favorite. It's the device which features in the greatest number of leaks. While this makes our job harder, it also reveals critical nuggets of information which contribute well towards the whole. Today, another such leak comes to light. Take a look below for the details.

Another Big Claim Complete With Alleged Image Shows The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s With Virtual Fingerprint Recognition; Will Company Beat Samsung To The Punch?

Right now, we've got a lot of details for Xiaomi's rumored Mi Mix 2s. The smartphone will follow its brilliantly designed predecessor in a world dominated by edge to edge displays and camera specifications. The Mix 2 partially delivers on these, as its key strength is an excellent form design. Now, after Xiaomi confirmed that the smartphone will launch on the 27th, we can take a more serious look at what is present on the rumor mill.

Today we have a fresh live image leak on our hands, which gives a good look on what to expect from the Mix 2s later this month. While it shows a somewhat similar device as the original Mix 2, the source also claims that this variant in particular features under the screen fingerprint recognition.

The reason behind this claim is apparent. The icon at the bottom of the screen resembles the one on Vivo's latest smartphone with virtual fingerprint sensing. Of course, there are no details that describe how this alleged feature works. We'd advise you take this with a grain of salt for the time being. The only other concrete leak we have for virtual fingerprint recognition on the Mix 2s is a specifications listing.

It's easier to claim features than show them in working. However, it's still nice to hear whispers of a biometric upgrade on the Mix 2s. Xiaomi has a lot to gain by successfully implementing it on a high-end smartphone. What we're equally interested in is the amount of RAM this rumored smartphone will feature. Samsung did not live up to expectations, and current leaks suggest that Xiaomi will. Things will clear up soon. Till then, stay tuned and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
