Could Xiaomi Announce The Mi5 On Its October 19 Event?
The Xiaomi's next flagship smartphone is the expected star announcement of the October 19 event. The company has started sending out invites for an event which could be the potential platform for the Xiaomi Mi5's launch. The event was announced on Weibo and the company also shared images of the invite with a launch date. The translation of the teaser image reads ''The next generation of new conference'' that could possibly mean that the Mi5 is nearing in.
However, since no device launch have been indicated by the company so far, the Mi5 launch could potentially be skipped in the forthcoming event. On a positive note, the Mi5 could likely be the candidate smartphone, which has been a subject to various leaks and rumors in the previous days. Some previous reports have also speculated that the device could be launched in November or December. Nonetheless, the October 19 event can not be ruled out, followed by a speculative report.
Let's dive in to see some more details on the forthcoming Xiaomi Mi5 and its chances to end up on the event next week.
We Just Might Get To Lay Our Eyes On The Xiaomi Mi5 Next Monday
Considering the fact that the event will take place next week, it would not be wrong to say that Xiaomi's next generation Mi5 will not feature the Snapdragon 820. This is because the earliest smartphones with the aforesaid chipset are not to arrive before Q1 2016. On the other hand, sources say that the Mi5 version would come in a version with MediaTek's Helio X20 chipset. Helio X20 is the first deca-core mobile chipset with stellar performance and is definitely no slouch in its own right.
As for what else will be part of the Xiaomi Mi5, speculations are that the smartphone will behold a 4GB RAM with a 16 megapixel rear facing camera sensor. Moreover, the Mi5 will be housed in a metal chassis, which would follow market trend for a premium look and feel. Since fingerprint scanners are a big deal, the Mi5 should also include a Qualcomm's 3D Ultrasonic fingerprint recognition for security and other purposes. The device may also feature an Adreno 530 GPU and a 5.3-inch diagonal display panel followed by a 3030mAh battery.
Even if Xiaomi's Mi5 is not the key announcement of the upcoming event, the next in line potential candidate is the Mi Pad 2. Initial rumors speculated that it will be announced in Q3 of this year however they remained unconfirmed by the company. So let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the Mi5 announcement at Xiaomi's October 19 event.
