Last night Microsoft released quite a feature-packed Windows 10 2019 Preview Build to Windows Insiders. The last major update for the year, build 18305 brought in some pretty useful features. But, it's the fun ones that deserve some attention.

The next version of Windows 10 due for a Spring 2019 release will make it easier for you to send (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻. Can't remember how to type an em dash? You won't need to. With Windows 10 19H1, Microsoft will make Kaomoji face characters accessible through the existing emoji shortcut (win+period or win+semicolon).

Not sure what's Kaomoji? You are in for some flipping fun! The Japanese emoji is a way to create faces using only text. The one used above is of "flipping tables" when a person flips a table out of rage or excitement (don't try this in real life...). Microsoft is now making it easier to type this kind of emoji using Windows hotkeys.

We’ve included sections for punctuation, currency, geometric, math, Latin, and language symbols. As you pick your most commonly used symbols, the most recently used tab will populate with them, so it will be even easier to select them next time.

Currently only the emoji section supports type to search.

With this build, we’ve updated the available kaomoji a bit based on your feedback, including adding ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and ᓚᘏᗢ.

The Windows maker also introduced a simplified Start layout, Settings Homepage changes, Clipoboard improvements, ability to set default Task Manager tab, and an extremely useful Windows Sandbox with last night's Preview Build. Head over to this piece for more details on all the other features that the latest Windows 10 2019 Insider Preview Build is testing.
