VAIO Announces Its First Ever Windows 10 Smartphone – Looks Very Appealing To The Eye

The company that not too long ago, announced its slew of impressive notebooks, VAIO has decided to attack the smartphone market with the announcement of its first ever handset that runs Windows 10, Phone Biz.

VAIO Phone Biz Packs Impressive Hardware Underneath Its Hood And Features An Impressive Design

VAIO Phone Biz features an aluminum finish and from what we can tell, the handset will be coming in two color versions; a white one and one that sports a silver chassis from the rear side. As for the OS, Phone Biz is running Windows 10, which is not a bad choice, looking at how the market is flooded with Android handsets sporting affordable prices, which is something that VAIO might not be able to compete against thanks to its business model. Additionally, the smartphone will be targeted to the enterprise crowd, suggesting that not many units are going to be produced by the company.

As for the hardware, VAIO Phone Biz is incorporated with a Snapdragon 617, which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, assuming the company bundled a compatible charger in the packaging. The chipset itself is packing eight Cortex-A53, meaning that it will be able to deliver a fluid smartphone experience, and while Windows 10 Mobile might not be the greatest platform in delivering the elevated experience like iOS or Android (Microsoft, this is your cue to start improving it), it is much smoother than Google’s Android, thus negating the requirement for needing such powerful hardware.

Supplementing the octa-core processor is 3GB of RAM, and an LTE modem has also been incorporated in order to deliver blistering fast mobile networking speeds. While there is only 16GB of internal storage, VAIO has added an expandable storage slot with a support for a 64GB card, so if you do intend on increasing your storage through this method, do not skimp out on purchasing a storage card with high read and write speeds.

One of the best features of Phone Biz is that it supports Continuum mode, and for those who do not know what it is, we have posted a video summarizing its features, so be sure to take a look at it before proceeding.

As for its pricing, VAIO Phone Biz will be available for ¥50,000 (or $424 USD) unlocked in Japan from April. However, here is one thing that we do not know; if the smartphone will reach other markets or not. Hopefully we will know soon enough. As far as its pricing and specifications are concerned, does VAIO Phone Biz provide enough compared to its asking price. Let us know your thoughts.
