The (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are wonderful phones to look at. But that white front panel does not sit well with everyone. Luckily, someone took the time out to swap the panel with a black one, and boy it looks gorgeous!

Swapping the White Panel for a Black One is Not an Easy Task – Entire iPhone 7 Plus Logic Board Needs to be Replaced Because of Touch ID

Before you go online and start ordering parts to give your red iPhone a makeover, there are a lot of things you have to consider. First and foremost, changing the front panel of the device means you have to change the Touch ID sensor as well. Once that happens, the new fingerprint sensor will not work with the existing logic board. So what’s the route around this problem? Simple – you take a black iPhone, take its back off, and put on a red iPhone’s back in its place. Essentially, you are changing the entire device inside out rather than just tossing in a front panel. So yes, it’s an expensive little feat to pull off, and you can see all the details about it in the video below by Danny Winget.

There’s a lot of effort that has gone into achieving the ultimate black-red iPhone 7 Plus look. But the end result is without a doubt very, very stunning. There’s something about red and black that just feels right. I, for one, feel sad that Apple did not go ahead with a (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7 with a black front. Or at least an option to choose between the two would have gone a long way for users. But it seems as though we can’t have everything in one fell swoop. The fact that we ended up getting a red iPhone should be considered nothing less than a blessing.

If the above video doesn’t do things justice, then make sure you check out the renders made by Benjamin Geskin on Twitter. They look wonderful.

Let us know in the comments section what you think about the above swap. Would you go through the trouble to achieve the ultimate iPhone look?
